Texas Ranger Free Spirit TR-127 FS

Made in China: This radio is a across between an export radio RCI board and a Cobra 29 LTD. Unlike either radio the Transmit and Receive switches using a relay instead of a Mic (Cobra) or electronic switching (RCI export).

The audio is mixed at the final stage using an audio transformer just as it is done in a Cobra 29 LTD. The export radios mix the audio with the carrier at an earlier mixing stage and the entire carrier envelope is then amplified. The inside of the TR-127 FS looks like an export RCI board, but uses high stage audio mixing at the final and driver. Instead of electronic switching that is used on most RCI boards this radio uses a relay.
